French Toast Casserole

I first had this recipe at my mother-in-laws and I fell in love with it. She loves to cook and always makes so much food. You can find the original recipe and many other delicious recipes at FamilyFoodieFun.

French Toast Casserole
1 lb loaf French bread
8 oz cream cheese, cubes
8 large eggs
2 1/2 cups whole milk
3/4 cup sugar
6 Tbsp buster, melted
1/4 cup maple syrup
Powdered sugar
1. Spray 9x13 glass baking dish with cooking spray. Break French bread into 1 1/2 inch cubes and place half of them into baking dish. Evenly distribute cream cheese chunks over bread. Top with other half of bread.
2. In large bowl, Whisk eggs, 1/4 cup maple syrup, milk, sugar, and melted butter. Pour over bread. Press bread with spatula to soak up the egg mixture. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.
3. Heat oven to 350 degrees and bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve. Drizzle each piece with maples syrup and dust with powdered sugar.
