Green Smoothie (Freezer Recipe)

Banana, strawberry, peach spinach green smoothie freezer recipe
Green Smoothie

I know, I know, a green smoothie doesn't even sound good. I use to think the same thing. Other than the color, I can't even tell spinach is in it. I also use to think you had to add some kind of sweetener to your smoothie in order to make it taste good and surprisingly there is no need. The fruit is a natural healthy sweetener. Crazy, I know. Here is my green smoothie recipe.

Green Smoothie Freezer Recipe

1 banana
1/2 of strawberries, peaches, mangos, or whatever other fruit you like (My favorite is strawberry, or a mixture of the three)
1 cup of spinach
2 cubes of vanilla yogurt
About 1/2 cup milk

I bought a bunch of bananas, strawberries, mangos, peaches, spinach and 1 large container of vanilla yogurt. Freeze the vanilla yogurt in ice cube trays (this should be done the day before). Chop the fruit into smaller chunk/slices. Add 1 sliced banana, 1/2 cup of fruit, 2 frozen cubes of vanilla yogurt, and 1 cup of spinach in Freezer (ziplock) bag and freeze.

When ready to make smoothie, remove 1 bag from freezer and let thaw on counter or defrost for about 30 seconds to 1 minute in microwave until able to whack ziplock bag against counter and the fruit separates. If you have a large enough blender you don't have to worry about separating the fruit, but if you have a magic bullet or something smaller then you will need to slightly thaw the fruit in order to separate it. DO NOT LET IT THAW TOO MUCH. It still needs to be frozen. Add about 1/2 cup milk and blend until smooth.
