Soft Fluffy Rolls

Soft Fluffy Rolls
Soft Fluffy Rolls
These rolls were adapted from a recipe I have had for awhile. That recipe was called Texas Roadhouse Rolls, but I don't think they taste anything like those rolls. However these rolls taste really good. They are soft, light, and fluffy. So if you want a soft fluffy roll that tastes great, then you can't go wrong with these.

Soft Fluffy Roll Recipe

4 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups milk, scalded and cooled to lukewarm
1/2 cup sugar
7-8 cups all purpose flour
3 Tbsp of melted butter, slightly cooled
2 eggs
2 tsp salt

Dissolve yeast in warm water and 1 tsp of sugar. Let stand until frothy. Combine yeast mixture, milk 1/2 cup sugar and enough flour to make a medium batter (about the consistency of pancake batter). Beat thoroughly. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Beat Well. Add enough flour to form a soft dough. Sprinkle a small amount of flour onto counter and let dough rest. Meanwhile, grease a large bowl. Knead dough about 4-5 minutes in kitchen aid mixer with dough attachment or by hand. Place in a greased bowl and turn over to grease top.

Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in size (about 1 hour). Punch down. Turn out onto a floured board. Divide into portions for shaping. Let rest 10 minutes. Shape dough into desired forms. Place in greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Let rise until double in size (about 1-2 hours).

Bake at 350 degrees for 16-17 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with butter immediately after removing from oven. Serve with butter, jam, honey butter of whatever you like. Enjoy!

* I usually cut the recipe in half and get exactly 12 big rolls. If you want to make them smaller, cook them for about 10-15 or until golden brown.

  1. These look delicious. I love homemade rolls. I will have to try these.

    1. Homemade rolls are the best! I could easily get fat off them.
